Volunteer: Meal Donations Needed

The Circles Initiative is part of an innovative national model that connects volunteers and community leaders to families wanting to make the journey into daily stability.

Thanks to your generosity, Circles is able to provide a donated meal every Tuesday evening. These meals ensure Circles participants are able to eat prior to our meetings, and meals are also open to the community.

Meals are donated from service groups, businesses, families, faith communities, and other groups who are able to prepare a meal for 75 people. Unfortunately, we do not have cooking facilities available.

Food quantity examples:

Meal donations should be enough to feed 75 people.

Meals can be just about anything: chili, lasagna, chicken and rice, burrito bar, sandwiches, etc. Meals sometimes include fruit and/or salad, and drinks, however these are not required.

We do ask that donations include utensils and plates when possible.

Pizza (20 pizzas) Casseroles (6 9x13'' pans) Tacos or Sloppy Joes (15 lbs meat)

Volunteer: Recreation Assistant

Country View Care Facility seeks Recreation Assistants to assist Recreation Aides with outings, special events and activities. As an assistant you'll do so many fun things with residents - especially in the warmer months when residents can get outdoors and take advantage of things happening in the area. More volunteers participating means more residents can participate, especially those in wheelchairs!

This is an opportunity for those 18 years or older with opportunities Monday - Friday days with a few evenings on occasion. Some may have to assist with pushing wheelchairs, but it's not a necessity to participate.

Some Recreation Assistants have helped with events such as outings to community events, participating in a picnic, an ice cream outing, fishing, attending a baseball game, and shopping at Wal-Mart.

The Christina Reiman Butterfly Wing is a 2500 sq. foot free flight butterfly exhibit. Because we fly mostly exotic species of butterflies, our facility is regulated by the USDA. Butterfly Wing Docents will interact directly with the public answering questions about the butterflies and plants in the exhibit.

All new docents are required to attend one training session (offered the last Tuesday morning of every month) before they may sign up to volunteer. New docents may shadow a current docent before committing to volunteering on their own.

No experience is required! Must be comfortable interacting with the public. A good smile helps!
