Our Mission The Gathering exists to serve our Cass County neighbors by providing free, nutritious meals and supportive connections in a welcoming, respectful environment. We are committed to removing barriers so that every person—individuals, families, and seniors—can receive a warm meal, a friendly face, and a sense of belonging. No charge. No questions. Just kindness. Our Vision We envision a community where no one goes hungry and no one feels alone. Through compassion, collaboration, and consistency, we strive to build a stronger Cass County where neighbors support neighbors, dignity is upheld, and everyone has a place at the table. Our History The Gathering began with a simple idea: bring people together through a meal. What started as a community effort to meet a growing need has become a consistent, trusted program serving Cass County every other Monday. With the support of local churches, volunteers, organizations, and donors, The Gathering has grown into more than just a meal—it’s a place of connection, care, and community. From its time serving meals at the American Legion Memorial Hall to its current home in the dining room at the United Church of Christ, The Gathering continues to evolve while staying rooted in its purpose: serving neighbors with dignity and love. Today, The Gathering offers dine-in, carry-out, and delivery meals, ensuring access for all across Cass County—including those who may not be able to attend in person.

Every other Monday, we host our Free Community Meal, offering dine-in, carry-out, and delivery options so everyone can access a warm meal—no matter their situation. There is no cost, no questions—just kindness. Beyond food, we create a welcoming space for connection, conversation, and support, helping reduce isolation and strengthen our community.
