Museum of Danish America

Who We Are

We are a national museum in Elk Horn, Iowa. We serve a national community of those with ties to or an interest in Denmark, and we also provide a number of programs in Southwest, Iowa. Our Jens Jensen Prairie Landscape is both a natural refuge and an ecological education experience. We are looking for volunteers to help shuttle guests around the grounds, and to help support events around the year. We also have opportunities to help maintain the grounds and act as visitor ambassadors.

What We Do

The Museum of Danish America explores the Danish-American experience, the historic and modern influences of Denmark on the United States, and the continuing story of how a nation of immigrants shape American identity.
