SHIIP counselors provide free one-on-one assistance to help Medicare beneficiaries, their caregivers or representatives with questions and problems related to Medicare & related health insurance. Counselors also assist their sponsor site to create awareness of SHIIP/SMP services in the county through informal discussions with partners or group presentations. Volunteer counselors are provided with training and regular update trainings at no charge. Volunteers are encouraged to join now to become trained for Open Enrollment (October-December).
