Summary: If you love interacting with children, this is your time to SHINE! Volunteers are needed to help with the Malvern Public Library’s youth activities. We need your smiling face, your helping hands and your energy to work with children during our scheduled activities and after school hours. Our kids have lots of energy and they need your support to expand all that brain power!
Duties: Volunteers would help library staff with the following responsibilities:
· Plan and implement activities for scheduled children’s activities.
· Share your passion and knowledge in your favorite areas – reading, STEM/STEAM activities, games, music, art, drama, computers and more.
· Assist children after school with homework guidance, play a game or just spend time sharing your smile.
· Attend occasional information and planning meetings with library staff.
Audience & Benefits: Youth Activities serve children ages 2-13. Supporting young people as they develop new skills, meeting other children in a safe space increases their confidence and ability to be successful. You will be directly contributing to the library’s mission to fully enhance learning experiences for all patrons.
Required Skills: Volunteers should be 55+ and bring your love for children, your own personal passions and your energy to share with others.
Reports To: Volunteer Manager will provide schedule and all direct supervision completed by Librarians.
Volunteer Schedule – Volunteer coverage is needed 3-5 days per week for 1-2 hours. You are asked to sign up at a minimum of 1 day each week for 1-2 hours, but feel free to sign up for more! The library is open 6 days per week so days/times can be set to meet your schedule.
