The RSVP Grant Writing Assistant will bring your writing skills to help the SWITCH Director, and the Grant Consultant prepare grant applications. If you appreciate a challenge, like details, love to put words together, and are willing to learn about different Grant applications – this might be the one for you! Grants help SWITCH provide increased services to the community and your help can make a positive difference!
Program description: At SWITCH - Lakin Foundation Training Hub, they specialize in providing space to established educational partners who offer vocational training programs designed to equip individuals in Iowa with the skills necessary for career advancement. Grants are critical to support their work, and volunteers are being recruited to assist the SWITCH Director and the Grant Consultant complete professional applications.
Duties:
● Collaborate with Grant Consultant and SWITCH Director.
● Researching grant opportunities.
● Proofreading grant narratives
● Other activities as needed in preparation of grant applications.
● Protect the privacy and confidentiality of grant applications.
Skills required:
● Must be 55 years of age or older.
● Must successfully pass a background check.
● Grant Writing experience is helpful but not required.
● Good writing skills.
● Relate well to staff and work with a team approach.
● Willingness to help SWITCH in supporting and expanding services through grant funding.
Supervisor: Volunteers will be supervised by the SWITCH Director.
Amount of Time: 2 to 4 hours weekly and will vary with grant applications.
Time of Day: As available during working hours Monday through Friday, could also work from home at alternate times.
