Director of Communications
Role Summary
As the Director of Communications, you will lead the development and execution of communication strategies for The Gathering Cass County, Inc., overseeing design, podcast, IT, volunteer communication, guest outreach, and social media teams to ensure consistent, welcoming, and impactful messaging. This is a remote volunteer position.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement communication strategies that promote the mission and programs of The Gathering Cass County, Inc.
Oversee creative and communication teams, including graphic design, podcast production, IT support, social media management, volunteer communications, and guest outreach
Ensure all public messaging reflects The Gathering’s mission, values, and brand consistency
Monitor communication effectiveness and help improve community engagement and outreach efforts
Support communication efforts for community meals, volunteer recruitment, fundraising events, sponsorships, and special programs
Ideal Qualifications
Strong leadership and organizational skills with experience coordinating creative or communications teams
Knowledge of communication tools, graphic design platforms, podcasting, and social media management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Passion for serving neighboring communities through kindness, dignity, and connection
Time Commitment
Approximately 10–15 hours per month with a flexible schedule.
