It's a great opportunity to meet car enthusiasts from across the region and be part of one of AtlanticFest's signature events.

Help keep AtlanticFest cool! Volunteers in the Coca-Cola trailers sell ice-cold Coca-Cola products to festival-goers throughout the day. Responsibilities include greeting customers, handling cash and helping keep the trailer clean and organized. It's a fast-paced, fun way to meet people while supporting one of the Chamber's biggest fundraisers. No experience necessary. We'll show you everything you need to know!

Help make the AtlanticFest Pedal Pull a success! We're looking for fun, enthusiastic volunteers to help set up the activity and keep the event running smoothly. It's an easy way to give back, cheer on some amazing kids, and be part of one of AtlanticFest's favorite traditions.

EveryStep is looking for volunteers to help maintain our outdoor space. 

Help with yardwork, weeding, trimming hedges, and other yard tasks. Tools would be provided to complete the task.

Provide as much or as little time as you would. You can provide 1-2 hours a week, 1-2 hours every other week, 1-2 hours a month, or even provide this service once.

If you have some time and are looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity, please consider volunteering at EveryStep's Giving Tree Thrift Store. Volunteer tasks include; clothing steamer, fitting room attendant, clothing washer, clothing straightener, baker for fun events, holiday décor-pricer, back door greater, and washing donated dishes.

We are seeking compassionate volunteers to provide support to grieving youth as School Support Group Facilitators.

Amanda the Panda seeks Group Facilitators to help fulfill its mission of providing hope and healing to individuals and families who have experienced the death of a loved one. With the goal of promoting peer support and connectivity, our Braving Grief support groups work to recognize how grief affects our minds and our bodies. Our Braving Grief series includes specific groups like Traumatic Loss,  Little Footprints: Perinatal and Infant Loss, and Youth groups. Each activity helps participants identify and accept grief emotions like anger and guilt, learn healthy coping skills, and create rituals to honor loved ones who have died. 

Group Facilitator volunteers are required to pass our Virtual Facilitator Training prior to volunteering. At TIM’s CLUBe, we believe lives are transformed through faith, community, and support. Our volunteers play a vital role in walking alongside residents as they rebuild their lives. We’ve created 12 volunteer teams so people can use their gifts in meaningful ways—from mentoring and prayer to events, hospitality, and hands-on projects. Join us and help serve dinner to our Braving Grief Support Group participants at Amanda the Panda. Volunteers will have an opportunity to do light meal preparation and setup, help serve the meal, and clean up after the meal.

Our groups take place on Monday evenings from 6pm-7:30pm and Kitchen Helpers are helping us out from 5:00pm-7:00pm.

Help represent EveryStep in the community by being our mascot, Amanda, at schools and other functions!

Volunteer will dress up in our Amanda the Panda costume and provide support for attendees at events. The volunteer should be able to respond appropriately at events (being quiet when necessary, or excited and waving at parades), represent the personality of Amanda, and the demeanor of the organization in public.

Volunteers should be friendly, comfortable around children and grieving families, and comfortable working indoors or outdoors in a costume covering head to feet.

Training on the costume is provided. Volunteer will need to pass a background check as well.

One of the many opportunities for volunteering with EveryStep includes being a community educator. The volunteer will serve as a representative of EveryStep at community events, volunteer fairs, and similar functions. The aim is to spread awareness about our services, engage with the community, and/or recruit volunteers. Training for this opportunity is required.

Amanda the Panda is looking for volunteers to help out in Childcare during our Braving Grief Support Groups.

The Childcare Helper role offers the opportunity to connect, supervise, and provide childcare in our play area or outside in our courtyard while their caregivers are in group. Kiddos are under the age of 5 and toys and activities are provided. 

Groups are held in 6-week sessions on Monday evenings, and volunteers could choose to help out with 1 or multiple weeks. Dinner is also provided each week.

As a local maternity home, Mary's Inn seeks compassionate, faith-filled women and high school/college-aged young women as babysitters for a couple of hours (or less) in the evenings and for one hour on Sundays so moms can attend life-skills programming and bible study.  Do you love children? Everybody Wins! Iowa (EWI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring children’s success in school and life through weekly one-to-one read-aloud experiences with caring adults.

EWI is seeking Board Members who will serve a minimum three (3) year term and assist EWI to achieve its mission to increase children’s success in school and in life through reading and mentoring experiences with caring volunteers. Terms are eligible for renewal to a maximum of three (3) consecutive terms. The Board meets every other month (July, September, November, January, March, and May) on Mondays from 5:30-6:30 PM. All Board Members are expected to participate in Committee activities and attend Committee meetings. Current committees include Public Relations and Resource Development. Committee meetings are held on the first Monday of every month, from 5:30-6:30 PM.

In 2002, when Everybody Wins! Iowa was initially launched, our Power Read program served just 15 students in 3 Des Moines schools. The program is now serving nearly 300 students each year in 3 counties (Dallas, Polk, Warren) in 6 school districts in the cities of Ankeny, Des Moines, West Des Moines, Norwalk, Perry, and Waukee.

Everybody Wins! Iowa is searching for charismatic Power Read Lead (PRL) Volunteers for the 2026-27 school year!

PRL volunteers will support one school to start, but more can be added depending on your availability. PRLs usually are on-site for about 1-2 hours per week, then send reminders and correspondence as needed. We follow school schedules, which can vary, but hours will fall primarily between 9 AM - 1 PM Monday - Friday. Cleaning up AY Mc Donald Park following the RAGBRAI gathering.  We want to get our park back in shape after welcoming thousands of bikers from around the world.  We will meet at 1:00 near the boat ramp parking area for instructions.  Supplies will be provided.  Bring your own gloves, if desired.  

We have several properties including 20 group homes. We care to individuals with disabilities 24/7 and that leaves little time to do these tasks. Many yards need raked, mulch, weeding, and trimming. Some may need windows washed and powerwashing the siding. If available please contact me and I will select a home to meeet the number of volunteers and time commitment. Day of the week and time can be set to meet your needs. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

QC Fles is a social service enterprise focusing on delivering inovated business services and creative solutions. 

Big Dreams is CRCC's signature fundraising and community celebration, bringing together families, supporters, and community members for a day of fun while raising funds for children with complex medical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. This year's event will feature a 5K and Fun Run, family activities, the Possibilities Playground, food trucks, vendors, and national headliners Peppa Pig and George along with a live performance by Koo Koo.

 BOLD=Urgent Need

We are looking for volunteers to help keep our facility grounds looking their best by assisting with mowing and basic outdoor maintenance. This is a great opportunity to support our mission while helping create a welcoming environment for our clients and visitors.

1. Help with yard repair, adding top soil and maybe grass seed to low spots due to construction equipment and trucks and workers from a construction project to replace the south house wall. 

2.Re-lay a brick path with Polymer/Polymeric sand and tamping. 

3. Raking the yard, spreading fertilizer and weed killer (10/10/10) and putting down grass seed and mulching or germination cover (potting soil/compost/straw).

4. Planting flowers that will be provided or heirloom plants.
5. Pulling weeds, cutting out saplings or volunteer trees (mulberry and walnut shrub trees)

AIM's annual fundraiser is in January, however mailers need to be sent out to potential sponsors in September. This task is simple but time consuming. We need help folding papers, labeling envelopes, and putting papers into the envelopes.

Interpreters will assist families and other Ready Set School volunteers by providing language interpretation throughout the event. Volunteers will help families communicate with staff, understand event instructions, and access available services such as school supplies, backpacks, haircuts, vaccinations, and health screenings. Interpreters will also help answer questions and ensure families feel welcomed and supported as they move through the event.

Volunteers will also help restock and straighten backpacks and school supply tables as needed.

38 students will be arriving in shifts with their families every 15 minutes.

Roots Capoeira is searching for board members with fundraising/grant writing experience.  Our goal is to write our first grants for our summer camp, teen ambassador program, and executive director position.

This volunteer opportunity will help welcome families arriving to receive school supplies.  Volunteers will ensure families are arriving for their registered date/time and will provide information regarding event logistics and available resources.

Notes

Sidewalkers are at least 14 years. They help set up and tear down equipment in the arena before, in between and/or after sessions. They also walk next to the participant during sessions and assist with balance and exercises. They must be able to comfortably walk and jog, for short distances, next to a horse while providing physical support to a participant.

Days and times that sessions are conducted:
Monday-Thursday and Saturday morning through early afternoon.
Volunteers typically work a 2-3 hour shift on their day, NOT the entire duration of sessions.

The Arc of the Quad Cities Area needs your help with Hygiene supplies for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As we all know costs continue to rise and available money for individuals with intellectual disabilities doesn't. Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities typically have little money left from their cost of care. I am seeking some caring individuals to help alleviate the cost of Hygiene supplies and leave them more money to spend on items that make them happy. We are seeking items such as Shampoo/conditioner for all hair types (including products for black hair), both solid and spray on deodorant. toothpaste, mouth wash, Body wash (not bar soap) for both men and women (Men's 3 in one and women's 2 in one is preferred), men's and women's shaving cream, razers, body lotion, body sprays, hairbrushes, combs, Kleenexes, nail care, chap stick etc. The most needed products to date are Men's 3 in one, body wash (some for sensitive skin, shampoo and conditioner. 

No bar soap, Q-Tip's or cotton balls please. Please feel free to share with friends, coworkers, groups or anyone willing to help!

Make a direct impact to a person with intellectual and developmental disabilities with little or no family involvement. We are seeking caring individuals we would be interested in being their birthday buddy and willing to get them a birthday cake and a small gift. You can be as involved as you see fit. If you choose to just adopt one person, a couple or a house full it is up to you. A cake to many of us is not a big deal but to an individual without a family it means the world. 

Volunteer Job Title: Sound Engineer

Purpose: We are looking for a volunteer with sound system knowledge who can help us figure out what we need to upgrade and properly set up our PA system for our yearly event.

Location: Remote

Key Responsibilities:

·       Work with our director to learn about our current sound system and make suggestions for improvements.

·       Willing to demonstrate and/or set up a brand-new sound system.

·       Quickly identify and resolve technical issues such as audio feedback and faulty cables.

·       Unload, position, and connect audio gear for our yearly event.

·       Pack up equipment after yearly event and perform routine maintenance to ensure all gear is ready for future use.

·       Required to attend yearly event and monthly White Eagle Multicultural Pow Wow Committee meetings as needed.

We are looking for volunteers who can support our Hands Project, which captures a bond that will forever be shared with families. We are seeking photographers - or people who simply like to take pictures - who can take pictures of the hands or our patients and send a black and white photo to the family so they will have a happy memory and a keepsake that lasts through the generations.

Pet Partners Volunteers and their certified pet therapy animals provide friendly, welcoming visits with our patients at assisted living facilities or in their homes. Our Pet Partners Program is one of the most beloved parts of the volunteer services we provide. You might even say it’s the warmest and fuzziest aspect of Heartland Hospice! Our volunteers visit our hospice patients and their loved ones, bringing joy and a little puppy love to all they encounter.

We are seeking compassionate volunteers with certified therapy animals to provide comfort, companionship, and emotional support to hospice patients and their families. Pet therapy visits offer a unique and meaningful way to enhance quality of life during end-of-life care.

Loneliness is widespread among older adults in care settings with around 61% of nursing home residents experience moderate loneliness and 35% experience severe loneliness. Volunteers hinder this by fostering relationships, encouraging participation in activities, and creating moments of joy and purpose.

Responsibilities include visiting with nursing home residents, engaging in books, games, and puzzles, and escorting residents to activities or walks in the courtyard.

Additional Information:

- This position offers flexibility with anywhere from 1-20 hours per week.

- Minimum commitment is one volunteer shift, but we encourage you to consider making a longer commitment 
   whether that be one month or more.

- Training will be provided during your first shift between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.

What Goal Buddies Do: Twice a month, Goal Buddies present P4K curriculum to two classrooms, with the assistance of the teachers. Topics include: career options, colleges, goal setting, healthy relationships, and school attendance.

Program Commitment: One school year

Time Commitment: 1 hour (30mins for each classroom), twice a month, September – May (school year)

Schools: Belle Ryan Elementary, Fontenelle Elementary, Franklin Elementary, Gifford Park Elementary, and Sherman Elementary

A Group Mentor is matched with a group of up to four students and meets with their mentees twice a month and together they pursue career exploration and post-secondary planning. Curriculum is built to facilitate discussions about school attendance, financial and health literacy, post-secondary plans, and career options. Additionally, occasional group outings deepen the mentor/mentee relationship.

Program Commitment: One school year

Time Commitment: 1.5 hr, average of 2 times a month after school, September – May (school year)

About P4K's Book Buddy Program: Twice a month, Book Buddies reinforce the importance of school attendance and reading at home and school. P4K provides each student with a copy of a book to build their at-home library.

What Book Buddies Do: In Kindergarten through 4th grade classrooms, Book Buddies read to a classroom or with small groups of students, then conduct a reading comprehension activity with the students and help from teachers.

Program Commitment: One school year

Time Commitment: 1 hour (30mins for each classroom), twice a month, September – May (school year)
