Create Hygiene Kits to distribute to Linn County shelters and food pantries to help homeless or near homeless clients in need of personal hygiene items. When individuals enter in transitional housing shelters, residential programs or receive services from free health clinics, they often don’t have basic items for their personal hygiene care. Providing these kits helps individuals feel better about themselves and start off on the right foot.
This project can be done onsite at a company location. Funding is required to purchase items in the kit. A minimum order of 100 kits ($500) per project. United Way will order all items, help with project planning, provide a speaker and instructions on assembling kits. The dates and times of the project are flexible. Set aside 1-2 hours for a project (depending on number of participants). Please give 2 weeks advance notice.
