Our UnityPoint Hospice team serves under the belief that every person deserves extraordinary end-of-life care, delivered by a team they can trust. At UnityPoint Hospice, we make it our mission to give the health care we'd like our loved ones to receive.

Hospice does not prolong life, nor does it hasten death, but instead focuses on creating a life full of comfort, dignity and peace for people in the final stages of life. Hospice addresses the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of every patient while also providing support for the entire family.

Volunteers are essential to the compassionate and personalized care provided by UnityPoint Hospice. Volunteers’ many services include providing companionship, socialization, and two- or three-hour respite services.

Hospice is not a place, but a philosophy of care. UnityPoint Hospice in Cedar Rapids was founded on the premise the patients and family should choose the care options that bring dignity, hope, and comfort to the remainder of the patient's life. 

UnityPoint Hospice provides excellent end-of-life care for individuals within a 50-mile radius of Cedar Rapids. Our comprehensive hospice services include arranging for medical equipment, supplies and medications, managing pain and symptoms, and providing spiritual care, respite care and bereavement services. Patients receive ongoing assessment, support, and coordination to help them pursue the goal of quality living. We also provide families support and resources they need to work through their challenges and grief.
