Independence Mustang Mentoring Program

Mission: To involve committed and talented volunteers in a valued partnership with teachers and staff to enrich the lives of our students to become effective communicators, problems solvers, responsible citizens and productive people.

Mustang Mentoring is our school-based Student Mentor Program serving K-12 students district-wide. Adult mentors are matched with students and build a friendship that mentors the student in the areas of attitude, attendance, and social skills.

Services we provide:

• One-on-one mentoring to support youth in their personal, academic, and social development
• Emotional support and encouragement to build confidence and resilience
• Assistance with goal-setting and life skills development for future success
• Academic guidance and tutoring to help students achieve their educational goals
• Community involvement opportunities to foster responsibility, leadership, and engagement
