Mission: To create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

For over 55 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 5 through 16. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

Services we provide:

• One-on-one mentoring for children facing adversity, matched with caring adult mentors (Bigs)
• Emotional support and guidance to help youth build self-esteem and resilience
• Assistance with personal and academic goal-setting to promote success
• Structured activities and community engagement opportunities to encourage positive development
• Ongoing mentor-mentee relationship support, ensuring long-term impact and positive outcomes
