Who We Are

Mission: To eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

In Iowa, more than 62,000 people are living with Alzheimer’s. Nearly 100,000 caregivers dedicate 125 million hours of unpaid care. From Des Moines to Cedar Rapids to the Quad Cities and every town in between, your local Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is here to help. Whether it’s offering support to anyone facing Alzheimer’s, advocating for the needs and rights of those facing dementia, or advancing critical research, we work toward methods of treatment, prevention, and ultimately, a cure.

What We Do

The Alzheimer’s Association is the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research. The Greater Iowa Chapter serve those affected, by providing these services in 85 Iowa and Illinois counties.
