If you have been thinking about how you can make a difference in the life of an abused and neglected child, then the CASA Speed Networking event is a fun way to get started. Show up and give us an opportunity to share with you all the aspects of what it takes to be a Court Appointed Advocate in Pottawattamie County. Anyone already familiar with the idea of speed dating will know how this works. If it’s a new idea to you, please don’t worry, because help will be on hand. Seasoned CASA advocates and coaches have been engaged in tireless research on your behalf and will be available to answer any and all questions.
What’s in it for you?
Current CASA Advocates, coaches and others will provide information at individual tables about the roles of a CASA and CASA Coach, who can be a CASA, training requirements, typical day in the life of a CASA, benefits of CASA, and what the next steps will be to becoming a child advocate.
Will you have to sign up to volunteer on the day?
Not necessarily. Taking on a volunteer job such as a Child Advocate is not something to rush. It isn’t for everyone. However, with local training being offered in April, anyone is welcome to apply on site. Our event is a fun way of getting people interested. We will help you make your decision - maybe on the day, or maybe a while alter once you have had time to think about it.
