Love History? Love Community? We Need YOU!
Step back in time and help preserve Shenandoah’s rich heritage! The Veterans Memorial Museum is looking for passionate volunteers to join our team and keep history alive for future generations. Whether you’re a history buff, a people person, or just curious about the past, there’s a role for YOU! We need volunteers to help man the desk to keep the museum open during operating hours. During that time, volunteers may assist in multiple ways including tidying public areas of the museum, greeting guests and providing information on the museum in general.
Location: Veterans Memorial Museum (603 W Lowell, Shenandoah, Iowa)
Skills required:
● RSVP volunteers must be 55 years of age or older.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Passion for history and community engagement.
● Successfully pass a criminal background screen.
● Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
● Flexibility to take on various tasks as needed.

Supervision: Supervision is provided by the Museum Director.
Operation information: We are a non-profit volunteer-based organization with a mission to preserve and share the history of Veterans in Shenandoah, Iowa, through artifacts. Throughout its history, the Museum has been operated by volunteers. The Museum offers its volunteers a unique opportunity to utilize their historical skills and interests in the service of the community.
