Who We Are
Mission: To connect youth with caring adults who can help them aspire, achieve, and develop to their fullest potential.
Johnston Youth Mentoring Program (JUMP) is a school-based community initiative dedicated to connecting students in grades 6-12 with caring adult mentors.
What We Do
JUMP provides one-on-one mentoring sessions where mentors act as positive role models, listening to students and assisting them in setting and achieving personal and academic goals. These weekly meetings, typically lasting one hour during the school day, focus on reinforcing basic skills, attitudes, and life lessons. The program aims to improve students’ relationships with peers, teachers, and family members, enhance academic performance, and reduce school absences.
